David Roberts to John U Roberts

   This Indenture made this the 3rd day of Septembr 1832 between David Roberts 
of Orange County & State of North Carolina of the one part & John U Roberts 
of said County & state of the other part Witnesseth – The said David Roberts 
for & in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars to him in hand paid 
the receipt where of is hereby acknowledged hath given granted bargained &
sold to John U Roberts his heirs & assigns forever & by these presents for the
consideration aforesaid doth give grant bargain & sell to the said John U 
Roberts his heirs & assigns for ever the following tract or parcel of land 
lying & being in the County of Orange aforesaid on the east side of Rocky Creek
& bounded as follows – to wit – Beginning at a small dogwood near the spring of 
Richd Roberts the late owner thence south 7° west 28 poles to a stake thence 
west 43 rods to a persimmon tree thence north 4 poles to a sassafras thence 
west 28 poles to Rocky Creek to a corner Poplar thence up the meanders of said
creek to a red oak thence north 81° east 18 poles to a pine thence south 12° 
east 10 poles to another pine thence to the beginning containing 50 acres more 
or less
  To have & to hold the said tract or parcel of land to him the said John U 
Roberts his heirs & assigns forever
   And the said David Roberts for himself his heirs executors administrators 
doth covenant & agree to & with the said John U Roberts his heirs assigns 
executors & admrs. that he hath good title in & to the said tract of land to 
convey the same in fee simple to the said John U Roberts
   And the said David Roberts for himself & his heirs for the consideration
aforesaid doth warrant & 
defend the right & title of the said tract of land to the said John U Roberts 
his heirs & assigns for ever against the claim or claims of all persons 
whomsoever
      In testimony where of the said David Roberts
hath hereunto set his hand & affixed his seal the day & date above written

The execution of this deed was duly proved in open court by the oath of Elisha
Umstead a subscribing
