Charles Roberts to Henry Whitted

This Indenture made this 26 day of March in the year of our Lord One thousand 
eight hundred & Twenty nine between Charles Roberts of the State of North 
Carolina & County of Orange of the one part & Henry Whitted of the State & 
County aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Charles Robert for 
& in Consideration of the Sum of Seventy two Dollars to him in hand paid at & 
before the sealing & delivery of these presents by the said Henry Whitted the 
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained, sold conveyed 
& confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain sell, convey & confirm 
unto the said Henry Whitted his heirs & assigns forever A Certain Tract or 
parcel of Land situate lying & being in the County aforesaid on the Waters of
Nunns Creek being part of a Tract belonging formerly to James Ray Beginning at 
a Stake with Pointers Kitty Williams Corner running thence North Twenty two 
chains & three fourths to a Stake with pointers Millars Corner, thence West 
along Millars line forty two poles & three feet to a Stake, thence South twenty 
& three fourth chains to James Williams’s line at a Stake, thence East forty 
two poles & three feet to the beginning. Containing Twenty four Acres be the 
same more or less. To Have & To Hold the above described Tract or Parcel of 
land with all & Singular the hereditaments & appurtenances thereunto belonging 
or in any wise appertaining to the only proper use & behoof of the said Henry 
Whitted his heirs & assigns forever And the said Charles Roberts for himself 
his heirs his heirs Executors, Admrs. doth Covenant and agree to & with the said
Henry Whitted his heirs Exers. & assigns that the title to the aforesaid Tract 
of land with the appurtenances he will Warrent & forever defend against the 
right Title, claim or demand of all & every person or persons forever whether 
in Law or Equity. In witness whereof the said Charles Roberts hath hereunto set 
his hand & affix his Seal the day & year first above written -
