Charles and Temperance Roberts to James Roberts

This Indenture made this 18th day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight Hundred & Twenty Eight Between Temperance and Charles Robert of the County 
of Orange & State of North Carolina of the one part & James Roberts of the County
of Granville & State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said 
Temperance & Charles Roberts for & in Consideration of the Sum of Two Hundred &
Sixty Seven dollars & fifty cents to them in hand paid by the said James Roberts
before the sealing of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby fully 
acknowledged Have granted, bargained, sold & confirmed & confirmed & conveyed 
and by these presents doth Grant bargain, sell, confirm & convey unto the said 
James Roberts his heirs [etc] forever A Certain Parcel or part of the Tract of 
Land that Jeremiah Roberts was Seized & Possessed of at his death situate in the
County of Orange & State aforesaid on the Waters of Flat River – Beginning at a 
White Oak on Rocky Creek, thence with America Wheelers line to a Willow Oak on 
the Haw Branch, then to a Maple on the same branch formerly a Corner & up the 
said Branch to a Willow Oak & black Jack a Corner on the Granville County line,
thence said line to Shadrack’s Corner a black Jack & Post Oak, thence on 
Shadrack Roberts line, Sixty poles to a black Jack Corner, thence on Thomas 
Roberts line two White Oaks on the branch called the spring branch, thence down 
said Branch to Rocky Creek, thence up said Creek to the beginning: Containing
Ninety Seven Acres be the same more or less: To Have & To Hold the aforesaid 
Tract of land & premises with the appurtenances & every thing in any wise 
belonging or appertaining thereunto, unto the said James Roberts his heirs
[etc] forever Against the said Temperance & Charles Roberts their heirs [etc]
forever & against all other claims whatsoever

I Thomas Ruffin one of the Judges of the Superior Courts of Law & Equity do 
Certify that before me on this 25th day of August 1828 [in] Orange County the
Execution of the Within Deed from Temperance Roberts & Charles Roberts to James
Roberts was duly proved by the Oath of Jeremiah Roberts one of the Subscribing 
Witnesses thereto – Let it be Registered
