Charles Roberts to James Turner

This Indenture made this tenth day of November in the year or our Lord One 
thousand Eight hundred & twenty between Charles Roberts of the State of North 
Carolina & County of Orange of the one part and James Turner of the State and 
County aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Charles Roberts 
for and in Consideration of the Sum of Five hundred Dollars to him in hand
paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents (by the said 
James Turner) the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained
sold conveyed & confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell, convey 
& confirm unto the said James Turner his heirs and assigns forever a Certain 
Tract or Parcel of Land situate lying & being in the County aforesaid on the 
Waters of Nunns Creek being part of a Tract formerly belonging to James Ray and 
Begining at a black Jack James Williams Corner on [Sheets] line runing thence 
North Twenty & three fourth chains to Two Gums on Millars line, thence East on 
said line forty seven chains to a Post Oak, thence South twenty two & three
fourth chains to a black Oak thence West Eight chains to a black Jack, thence 
North Two & one half chains to a Oak thence West Eighteen & three fourth chains 
to the begining  Containing One hundred & three & one fourth acres be the same 
more or less: To have & to hold the above described Tract or Parcel of land 
with all & Singular the hereditaments & appurtenances thereunto belonging or 
in any wise appertaining to the only proper use & behoof of the said James 
Turner his heirs & assigns forever And the said Charles Roberts for himself 
his Heirs Executors & administrators doth Covenant and agree to and with 
the said James Turner his heirs Execrs. & assigns that the Title of the 
Aforesaid Tract of land with the appurtenances he will Warrent & forever defend
against the right title claim or demand of all & every person or persons forever 
whether in Law or Equity – In witness whereof the said Charles Roberts hath 
hereunto set his hand and affixed his Seal the day & year first above written –
