Charles Roberts to Joseph H. Bland

This Indenture made this 3d day of August in the year of our Lord One thousand
Eight hundred and Thirty between Charles Roberts of the County of Orange and 
State of North Carolina of the one part and Joseph H. Bland of the County and 
State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Charles Roberts for 
and in consideration of the sum of Four hundred and Fifty dollars to him in hand 
paid by the said Joseph H. Bland the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath 
given granted bargained sold released and confirmed and by these presents doth 
give grant bargain sell release and confirm unto the said Joseph H Bland a certain
Tract or parcel of land lying and being in the said County of Orange on the waters
of Nunns Creek Beginning at a Stake where a black Jack formerly stood and marked
with pointers James Williams’ Corner on Josiah Turners line, thence North with 
said line Twenty Chains & Seventy five links to two small gums on Millers line
thence East with his line thirty six Chains & fifty links to a Stake and pointers
Henry Whitteds Corner near Millers fence thence South with Whitteds Line 
Twenty three chains and Seventy five links to a Stake on Williams line then West
with his line Seventeen chains and fifty links to a red oak where a black Jack is 
called for, Williams Corner thence North three chains to a Spanish oak Williams 
corner thence West with Williams line Nineteen chains to the beginning Containing 
Eighty one acres more or less To have and to hold the above described or Tract of 
Land with all and singular the Hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging
or in any wise appertaining to the only proper use and behoof of him the said, 
Joseph H. Bland his Heirs Executors and Assigns forever. And the said Charles 
Roberts for himself his Heirs Executors and Administrators doth covenant and 
agree to and with the said Joseph H Bland his Heirs Executors and assigns that 
the right and Title to the above described Tract of Land he will forever warrant 
and defend against all and every person or persons whatsoever In Witness whereof 
the said Charles Roberts hath hereto set his hand and Seal the day and year first

   The Execution of this Deed was duly proved in Open Court by the oath of William
Horton the subscribing Witness thereto and ordered to be registered
