   This Indenture made the 1st day of Feby in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and fifty four between Frances Roberts of the County of Orange in 
the State of North Carolina of the one part and Willie J Roberts Andrew J Roberts
Dewit C Roberts of the County of Orange and State of North Carolina of the other 
part Witnesseth, that the said Francis Roberts for and in consideration of the 
sum of Five Hundred & fifty Dollars to him in hand paid by the said Willie J 
Roberts Andrew J Roberts and Dewit C. Roberts the receipt whereof the Said Francis
Roberts doth hereby acknowledge, hath given granted bargained and sold aliened and
confirmed and by these presents doth give grand bargain and sell alien and confirm
unto the said Willie J Roberts Andrew J Roberts & Dewit C Roberts their heirs and 
assigns for ever, all that tract of land Situate lying and being in the County of
Orange Known as the John Roberts plantation Supposed to be one hundred and fifty 
acres also twenty five acres adjoining Said land of the tract whereon I the Said 
Francis now lives So as to make the full number of one hundred and fifty acres 
provided there is not enough of the Said John Roberts tract, and also all the 
woods ways waters and water courses and all and every the appurtenances thereunto
belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversion and reversions remainder 
and remainders rents issues and profits of the aforesaid lands and premises and 
every part thereof and all the estate right title interest claim property and 
demand whatsoever of the Said Francis Roberts of in and to the lands and premises 
hereby granted To have and to hold the aforesaid lands and premises with the
appurtenances unto the Said Willie Roberts Andrew J Roberts & Dewit C. Roberts 
their heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the said Willie J 
Roberts Andrew J Roberts and Dewit C Roberts their heirs and assigns forever, 
and the Said Francis Roberts for himself and his heirs the aforesaid lands and
premises and every part thereof against Francis Roberts and his heirs and against 
the Claim or Claims of all and every other person or persons whatsoever to the 
said Willie J Roberts A.J. Roberts & Dewit C Roberts heirs and assigns shall and 
will warrant and forever defend by these presents

his Seal the day and year first above written

The Execution of the within foregoing Deed was duly proved in open court by the
oath of Harrison Parker one of the Subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to 
be registered.
