Sneed and Samuel Hancock of the county of Orange and State of North Carolina. Witnessed that the said Jonathan P. Sneed has this day bargained and sold to Samuel Hancock a parcel of land or lot in the town of Hillsborough for in consideration of the sum of twenty five dollars to him in hand paid, lying on the east side of Churton Street beginning at the line of Horace J. Faddis ( formerly Samuel Allison ) running east to Saml Hancocks line then with said Hancocks line north twelve feet then west to Churton Street, then with said street south twelve feet to the beginning being part of lot No 4 known and designed in the plan of said town and being twelve feet cut off on the south side of Jonathan P. Sneeds lot no 4 the right and title to which parcel of land , I now and forever warrant and defend to the said Samuel Hancock his heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof I have herunto set my hand and seal the day and date above. J. P.
