Witnesseth that the said Gotte for and in consideration of the following sums of money which he is indebted to James Currie by a bond dated 30th Oct. 1819 and due 1st September 1820 for the sum of three hundred forty one dollars $341 made payable to Quintin (?) Anderson and by him assigned to James Currie on the 13th May 1820 on which bond a payment was made by Gatte to Currie of Eighty Dollars $80 on the 15th July 1821. Which sum has been receieved by said Currie on said bond and also the following sums of money due Quintin Anderson by two notes of hand one of which bares date 30th Oct. 1819 and payable 25th December 1819 for the sum of three hundred and forty one dollars $341 on which a ?-warrant? On the 17th January 1820 for the sum of Three hundred dollars $300. The other bearing date 30th Oct. 1819 and due the 25th December 1820 for three hundred and forty one dollars $341 and which debts he the said Gatte being desirous to pay and satisfy and also the further sum of one dollar to him in had paid by the said Walker the receipt is hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold unto the said Walker the following tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county and state aforesaid on Jordon Creek adjoining the said of Joseph Tate and Walker and others. Beginning at a ? on Joshua Walkers line ? then north ? Jordan Creek near a cotton machine eighteen chains and eighty links to a red oak near a path thence east fifty chains to a white oak then north twenty two chains fifty links to a pointer on the city line, then east seven chains thirty eight links to a white oak then sought forty eight chains to Jordans Creek, then westward along the creek meanders to a small black oak near the saw mill on John Walkers line. North twenty seven degrees west one chain and eighteen links to a locust then south 80 degrees west thirteen chains eighty links ? the creek to the beginning. Containing by estimation one hundred and fifty three acres and one half acre by the same more or less except two acres sold by Chl Jordon to Joseph Tate lying near the mill of said Tate and which land is understood by said Gotte not to be really consigned to him by Q. Anderson under whom he claims title to the above divided lands. Also the following property viz. 1 waggon, one Sorrel mare, 1 bag mare, ? stack of corn 6 in number, my four feather beds and furniture and all my household and kitchen furniture- to have and to hold the aforesaid tract of land and property to the said Walker his heirs and ? on principle and confidence however if the aforesaid Gatte shall fail to pay and satisfy to said Currie and Anderson the aforesaid sum of money with interest thereon on or before the 1st day of March next that the said Walker shall at the request of the said Currie or Anderson or Gatte proceed to sell the said lands and Termements and all other property herein named for the highest price that can be obtained for the same first giving at least twenty days notice by advertisement of the time and place of sale which lands and property shall be sold for the use of Currie and Anderson and after paying Currie and Anderson the above named sums of money and all the ? of carrying this writing unto effect the said Walker shall pay the ? if any to the said Gatte or his heirs and the said Gatte agrees with said Walker that he has ? to convey title to said lands and property that is is free from any former conveyances from him.
