Jacob Whitaker to Thomas Reding

Thomas Reding  ) This Indenture made this Thirtieth day of
May in the Year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred & Seventeen
between Jacob Whitaker of Orange County and State of North Carolina
of the one part and Thomas Reding of the County & State aforesaid
of the other part Witnesseth that the said Jacob Whitaker for
and in consideration of One hundred & fifty pounds to him in
hand paid the Receipt whereof the said Jacob Whitaker doth
hereby acknowledge and himself contented satisfied & paid the
said Jacob Whitaker hath granted bargained & sold aliened & con
=firmed and by these presents doth grant bargain & sell alien and
confirm unto the said Thomas Reding his heirs and assigns forever
all that Tract or Parcel of land situated lying and being in the
County of Orange and sd State and bounded as follows
bounded by the land of William Cabe on the North & haw
branch on the East & the River Eno on the south Begining 
at a Red Oak on the Bank of Eno River runing thence along
William Cabes line thirty two chains to a Post Oak on the bank
of Haw branch thence down the various Courses of said branch
to the River thence up the River and its meanders to the first
Station containing by estimation One hundred & four acres also
all trees and under woods profits commodities advantages ways
waters and appurtenances whatsoever to the said messuage and
lands above mentioned belonging or any wise appertaining whatso
=ever to the said messuage and lands above mentioned and also
all the remainder & Remainders Rents and Services of the said
premises and every part thereof and all estate right title & inter
=est claims & demands whatsoever of him the said Jacob Whitaker
of in & to the said Messuage & premises & every part thereof To
have and to hold the said Messuage or tenement & all & Singular
the premises above mentioned and every part & parcel thereof with
appurtenances thereto belonging unto the said Jacob Whitaker his heirs &
assigns to the only proper use & behoof of the said Thomas Reding his
heirs & assigns forever and the said Jacob Whitaker for himself
and his heirs doth by these presents doth warrent & forever defend
the said Tract or messuage of Land unto the said Thomas Reding
his heirs and assigns forever & from the lawful claim or title of any
Person or persons whatsoever In witness whereof he the said Jacob
Whitaker hath here set his hand & affixed his seal the day &
