John Wilson Est by Exr to Samuel Bumpass

This Indenture made this 17th day of October
in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred
and thirty four between Herbert Sims Exec
=utor of John Wilson Decd of the County of Orange
and State of North Carolina of the one part and
Samuel Bumpass – Witnesseth that the said
Herbert Sims Excr for and in consideration of
the sum of Seventeen Hundred and fifty Eight
Dollars to him in hand paid by the said Samuel
Bumpass the recpt whereof I do hereby acknowledge
hath given granted bargained Sold and delivered
and doth by these presents give grant bargain
alien and confirm unto the said Samuel Bump
=ass his heirs and assigns forever all that tract
or parcel of Land and premises lying and being
in the County of Orange on Mountain Creek adjo
=ining the Lands of Samuel Bumpass John Neely and
others Beginning at a Post Oak Bumpassess corner thence
with his line North (N70Db E.69.chs. 75 lks) Seventy degrees
East Sixty Nine chains and Seventy five links to a
Stake his corner thence with his line North
(N81 dg E 12 chs) Eighty one degrees East twelve chains
to a white oak Tillys corner on the bank of Mountain
Creek thence with his line North (N 75 chs) seventy
five chains to a Stake his corner, thence with his
line North (N 54 dg E 37 chs) fifty four degrees East
thirty seven chains to a hickory a corner of said
Tilly & George Riggs thence with Riggs line North
(N 65¼ dg W 7 chs. 50 links Sixty five & one fourth degrees West
seven chains and fifty links to a post oak his
corner and and Jessee Parkers thence with Parkers
line North (49 ½ dg W 17 chs forty nine & one fourth de
=grees West Seventeen chains to a Stake his corner then
-ce West (W 30 chs) thirty chains with his line & Nancy
Garrets to a White Oak Stump her corner thence
with her line (N 16 chs) North Sixteen chains to a Stake
Stake thence West (W 4 chs 50 lks) four chains and
fifty links crossing the creek to a dogwood Stump
Neelys corner thence with the creek as it meanders to a
stake Neeleys corner at the bend thence with his
line South (S 4 dg W 17 chs 50 lks) four degrees West twelve ch
=ains and fifty links to a white oak stump and pointers
his corner thence with his line South (S 52 dg W 9 chs 75 lks)
fifty two degrees West nine chains 25 links to a persimmon
his corner thence with his line North (N 86 dg W 21 chs 80 l)
Eighty Six degrees West twenty one chains and eighty
links to a red oak Moses Leathers line thence with his
line South (S 11 ½ dg W 30 chs) to a Stake his corner thence with
his line North (N 79 dg W 33 ch 50 l) Seventy nine degrees West
thirty three chains and fifty links to a Stone pile and
pointers his corner, thence South (S 35 dg W 1 ch 50 l) thirty
five degs West one chain and fifty links to a Stake where
a post oak stood thence South (S 38 dgs E 4 ch 75 l) thirty
Eight degrees East four chains and Seventy five links
to a Stake & intersection thence South (S 71 dg E 25 ch) Seventy
degs East twenty three chains to black oak thence South
(S 17 dg W 29 ch 60 l) Seventeen degrees west twenty nine chains
and Sixty links to the first Station containing by estim
=ation four hundred and thirty Nine acres be the same
more or less to have and to hold the above described
tract or parcel of land and premises with all the app
=urtenances thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining
with the revision and revisions remainder and rema
-inders rents issues and profits and every part there of
unto the said Samuel Bumpass his heirs and assigns
for ever and the said Herbert Sims Executor of John Wilson
Decd for himself his heirs and assigns and for the heirs of
John Wilson Decd doth covenant and agree to and with
the said Samuel Bumpass to warrant and defend
the aforesaid tract of Land and premises and evry part
thereof against the claim or claims of any person or persons
whatsoever In witness whereof I the said Herbert Sims
Executor aforesaid have hereunto set my hand and aff
=ixed my Seal the day and year first above written
