William Brooks - Deserter
Fri., Oct. 23, 1812
War of 1812
DESERTED - from my recruiting post in Raleigh, in the month of July last, 
WILLIAM BROOKS, a Soldier, enlisted in the service of the United States, about 
18 or 19 years of age, five feet nine and a half inches high, fair complexion, 
grey eyes, light hair, and by profession, a laborer; he is a native of Orange 
County, where he is expected to be lurking.
