C.-- April 6, 1860 April 6, 1860 The Standard of Raleigh, N. C.-- April 6, 1860 $400 REWARD STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA A PROCLAMATION BY HIS EXCELLENCY, JOHN W. ELLIS, GOVERNOR OF NORTH CAROLINA Whereas, It Has Been Represented To me that FRANKLIN C. FORD, late of the county of Cabarrus, stands charged with the murder of NATHANIEL H. WATSON, late of the county of Orange, and that the said FORD is a fugitive from justice and hath escaped beyond the limits of the State. Now, therefore, to the end that the said FORD may be arrested and brought to trial for his said offense, I do hereby issue this my Proclamation, offering a reward of $400 for his apprehension and delivery to the Sheriff of the County of Orange. Given under my hand, and attested by the Great Seal of the State, this, the 29th day of March, A.D., 1860. JOHN W. ELLIS Description: FRANKLIN C. FORD is about 16 or 17 years of age, five feet four or five inches in height, and weighs about 110 pounds.His hair is very red, and his complexion rather florid. March 29, 1860.
