The News of Orange County, June 6, 1968
John Walter Bacon of Hillsborough, died at his home on Saturday. He was 83.
Survivors include -
Widow: Mrs. Lillian Jackson Bacon
One son: Wallace Bacon of Hillsborough
One daughter: Mrs. Ellen B. Blake of Durham
Two brothers: Jim and Tom Bacon of Hillsborough
One sister: Vesta Bacon of the Methodist Retirement Home in Durham
Five grandchildren
Funeral held Monday at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church by Rev. Lauton Pettit.
He was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church.
Burial in New Sharon Methodist Church cemetery.
Pallbearers: Alfred Carr, Jon Roberts, Victor Garrard, John Midgett, Carlton 
McKee, Dupree Smith, Reid Roberts and Douglas Crabtree
