Basil E. Beck, Jr., died Thursday night in Veterans Hospital in Durham.
He was 54.
He was a Hillsborough businessman, civic leader and owner/operator of 
Hillsborough Dry Cleaners for 23 years.
A native of Durham County.
A member of First Baptist Church of Hillsborough and the Hillsborough Exchange 
Club.
Survivors include -
Widow: Mrs. Ruby Emory Beck
Mother: Mrs. Basil E. Beck of Durham
One daughter: Mrs. John Toler of Riverside, Calif.
Two sisters: Mrs. Lawrence J. Ward of Durham and Mrs. Jane R. Thompson of Vero 
Beach, Fla
One grandchild
Funeral held Sunday at First Baptist Church by Rev. George E. Simmons
Burial in Maplewood Cemetery in Durham
Pallbearers: Tommy Compton, Dickie Robertson, Winford Walker, Walter Walker, 
Jim Litts and Randy Marson
