Pfc. Joseph Riddick Blackwood, killed in action, March 27 in Germany.
Husband of the former Miss Margaret Blassingill of Savannah, Georgia.
Entered the army August 1944
Had been overseas since February 1945 and was an infantryman in the First Army
Member of Antioch Baptist Church

Mother: Mrs. Nell Blackwood
Wife
Two brothers: [?] Sgt. Robert L. Blackwood in hospital in England and P-Sgt. 
Truett Blackwood in India
Sisters: Mrs. J.T. Lloyd; Mrs. Alton Riley; Miss Hazel Blackwood of Chapel 
Hill and Mrs. [R] W. Much of Virginia
