The News of Orange County, November 13, 1969
Mrs. Patie Bowling Bowen, 81, of Rougemont, died November 4 at Watts Hospital.
Services were held November 6 at Rougemont UMC with burial in the Bowling 
family cemetery.
Conducting the service were Rev. Warren B. Petteway and Rev. E.R. Clegg.
Born and raise in Durham County, she was the daughter of James W. Bowling and 
Lula Lawson Bowling.
Educated in Durham County Schools and Greensboro Normal College in Greensboro, 
now UNC Greensboro.
A member of Rougemont Methodist Church, she had lived in Rougemont all her 
life.
She married Murray Bowen of Rougemont. He died in 1910.
One Daughter: Mrs. Price B. Fitzpatrick of Durham
One Son: Jerry B. Bowen of Durham
One Sister: Mrs. C.C. Frey of Fair Forest, SC
One Brother: W. Lee Bowling of Broadway
One Granddaughter: Miss Winston Fritzpatrick
