The News of Orange County, May 17, 1945
Sgt. E.G. Broadwell, killed in action, April 19 in Germany.
He was with the First Army in Germany.
Awarded: Purple Heart and Combat Infantryman's Badge
Entered service May 28, 1943.
Employed by Duke Power Plant, University, prior to entering service.
Survivors:
Wife: Former Miss Bettie Minnis
Small son: Luther
Sister: Mrs. Jack Williams of Durham
