William Henry Carden of Durham, died Sunday at his home. He was 85.
Funeral held Tuesday by Rev. Leon M. Hall, associate minister of Trinity 
Methodist Church.
Burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
He was a former Orange County resident and a retired Erwin mills mechanic.
Born in Orange County to the late John Carden and Sallie Walker Carden.
He moved to Durham at an early age with his family.
Survivors include -
Wife: Mrs. Fannie Rhew Carden, a native of Durham
Two sons: Jesse Carden of the home and William B. Carden of Newport, Va.
One daughter: Mrs. V.D. Lovelace of Danville, Va
A brother: John C. Carden of Durham
Three sisters: Mrs. D.L. Bobbitt of Durham, Mrs. James Rhew and Mrs. Mary 
Dunnegan of Hillsborough
