The News of Orange County, February 28, 1924
Mr. James Cole, died at home in West Durham, Sunday afternoon
He was about 72.
He had been ill two weeks.
Survivors:
Three brothers: Cag Cole of Durham, S.E. Cole of Hillsboro and Thomas Cole of 
near Hillsboro
One sister: Mrs. Jim McFarland of Edgemont
12 children: 10 boys and 2 girls:
Edward, Bernice, Freddie, Jerone, Luther and Henry Cole of Durham, Peesley and 
Earnest Cole of Chatham County and Hubert Cole of LaGrange
Two daughters: Mrs. Effie Delliay of Chapel Hill and Mrs. R.F. Webster of 
Durham
42 grandchildren
Well known in Orange County
Burial in Cedar Hill cemetery
Member of the order of Red Men
