Collins killed in action. Listed as missing in action February 7, 1944 over Italy. Son of Mr. and Mrs. J.S. Collins. Two years served under General George Patton with the Second Armored Division. In January 1943 he entered the Air Corps as an aviation cadet. At the time of his death, he was flying a fighter plane over Anzio beachead. Stationed in North Africa, then in Italy. He was in combat duty since December of 1943. His wings were received in February of 1943. Survivors: Parents Brother: Billy J. Collins, paratrooper overseas Brother-in-law: George C.
