The News of Orange County, January 4, 1972
Richard C. Gates, died Friday December 29 at Person County Memorial Hospital.
He was 94.
Native of Orange County and resident of Rougemont.
Retired farmer and trustee of New Bethel United Methodist Church.
Funeral services December 31 at New Bethel United Methodist Church and burial 
in church cemetery.
Service conducted by Rev. Richard Parsons.
Survivors:
Four daughters: Mrs. Maude McKee; Mrs. Emma Clark and Miss Margaret Gates, all 
of Rougemont.
Mrs. Mildred Flintom of Durham
A son: Henry S. Gates of Roxboro
A half-sister: Mrs. Annie Wheeler of Durham
Five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren
