Edward "Ed" Hatcher of Durham, killed in action in Europe. He was with the Army, 6th Armored Division He saw much action in Europe and participated in the rescue of the 101st Airborne Division at Bastogne. Employed at Durham Dairy prior to entering the service. Entered the army, February 1943 and received training at Camp Cook, California. Went overseas, March 1944.
