DIED, on the 9th of November, after a lingering and painful illness, JAMES 
HOGG, ESQ., near Hillsborough, closed a well-spent life, in the 76th year of 
his age; his family have to regret the loss of a tender and affectionate 
parent, and a kind and indulgent master, his friends, the pattern and ornament 
of their social circle, the poor, their benefactor, and the stranger that 
genuine hospitality and politeness which bade the welcome to his house.
