Edgar William Kernodle of Cedar Grove, died July 4 at Umstead Hospital in 
Butner. He was 75.
Funeral held Friday at Mt. Zion Christian Church by Rev. John Wilder, pastor 
and Rev. John Bolden with burial in the church cemetery.
A retired farmer and native of Alamance County.
Member of Mount Zion Christian Church.
Survivors include -
Widow: Mrs. Iona Walker Kernodle
Five daughters: Miss Irene Kernodle of the home, Mrs. C.D. Moorefield of 
Burlington, Mrs. James D. Wells and Mrs. Iris Douglas of Durham and Mrs. J.J. 
Cooke of Cedar Grove
Two sons: J.H. Kernodle of Elon College and W.A. Kernodle of Cedar Grove
Three brothers: John D. Kernodle of Gibsonville, Bruce Kernodle of Altamahaw 
and Otis Kernodle of Efland
Two sisters: Mrs. Corinna Ball of Hillsborough and Mrs. Alene Taylor of 
Greensboro
14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren
