Grady P. King was killed in action, January 29, in Luxemburg, according to the War Department. He had previously been listed as Missing In Action. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. King of Chapel Hill and was married to the former Miss Ada Mae Perry of Carrboro. He graduated in 1939 from Lowes Grove High School. In May 1944, he entered the service at Fort Bragg. His training was received at Camp Croft, SC and was sent overseas in November, 1944. Survivors: Son: James Grady, age 1 Parents Wife Brothers and sisters: Mrs. Brodie Tilley; Mrs. Walton Merritt; Mrs. Karl Andrews and Mrs. Clifton King; Hubert H.; J. Ray; Richard; Horton and Boone King all of Durham and Harlan L. King of the U.S. Naval Technical Training School in Jacksonville, Fla. Harlan currently confined to the hospital there, due to a broken ankle.
