The News of Orange County, February 5, 1959
William Thomas McKee of the Caldwell community, died Saturday morning in a 
Durham hospital after a critical illness of a few days.
He was 72.
Employed 35 years with State Highway Department and a former superintendent of 
the Hillsboro prison camp seven years.
Retired in July 1956.
Suffered a heart attack Tuesday morning at home.
Funeral held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Little River Presbyterian Church.
Member of Little River Presbyterian Church from early childhood.
Services conducted by Rev. Clarker Porter and Rev. K.M. Misenheimer.
Burial in church cemetery.
Son of W.R. and Alwilda Roundtree McKee
Survivors:
Widow: Mrs. Oliva Ray McKee of the home
Two daughters: Mrs. Dallas Cole of Chapel Hill and Mrs. Wilfred Phelps of 
Cedar Grove
Two sons: Bill and Howard McKee of Orange County
Seven grandchildren
Three sisters: Mrs. Leland Miller of Burlington, Mrs. Lawrence Cannon of 
Davidson and Miss Tiny McKee of New Bern
Two brothers: George McKee of Rougemont and Charlie McKee of Washington, DC
