The News of Orange County, June 28, 1956
Robert I. Murdock of Hillsboro, died Tuesday afternoon (1:30 p.m.) in a Durham 
hospital after a long illness.
He was 77.
Born in Orange County, son of Henry and Martha Murdock
Educated in the Orange County Schools
Lived entire life here and was engaged in farming.
Member of Palmer's Grove Methodist Church.
Survivors:
One daughter: Mrs. Nellie Murdock Nagle of Baltimore, MD
Two sons: Albert L. Murdock and Henry G. Murdock of Durham
One brother: A.A. Murdock of Durham
Two sisters: Mrs. Mamie M. Gordon of Hillsboro and Mrs. Richard Gates of 
Rougemont
Eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild
First married to Miss Nellie Gray of Rougemont, who died in 1915
Next married Miss Bertha Yates of Orange County who died in 1945.
Funeral held this afternoon at 4:00 p.m. in New Bethel Church, 4 miles this 
side of Rougemont. Burial in the church cemetery.
