Jesse William Nichols on March 8. Services were conducted by Rev. E.H. Measamer of Efland and Rev. T. B. Hough of Mebane. January 1943, he entered the service and trained at Fort Jackson, SC. April 1944 he was sent overseas. He was attached to the tank calvary of the Third Army. October 11, 1944 he was killed in action in France. Prior to entering the service, he was a postal clerk at Camp Pickett, VA. Survivors: Wife: Mrs. Nellie Long Nichols of Mebane Mother: Mrs. J. B.
