The News of Orange County, December 7, 1944
Pfc. Harold Rexford Oakley was killed in action November 9, in France.
Served under General Patton in the 4th Division.
Had been overseas 3 months.
Inducted 10 months ago.
He had been in farming prior to entering the service.
Training received at Camp Blanding, Florida.
Survivors:
Wife: Mrs. Margaret Cole Oakley
Four children: Jan; Harold; Nancy and Frances
Father: J.M. Oakley
One sister: Mrs. Brandon Lloyd, all of Hillsboro
