Malcolm Donald "Mac" Riley was killed in action in Italy, September 17. Son of Mrs. Coye Riley of Efland, he had been overseas twenty months. He entered the army in December of 1942. Trained at Camp Van Dorn, Mississippi. In January 1943 he went to North Africa and was there 3 months before going to Italy. He was a member of the Fifth Army. Graduate of Efland High School and attended High Point College. Employed at Washington shipyards and a member of Efland Baptist Church. Survivors: Mother Father: S/Sgt.
