William Thomas Roberts of Hillsborough, died Friday morning in a Durham 
nursing home. He was 89.
A retired farmer and lifelong member of New Sharon Methodist Church.
A member of the Grange.
Survivors include -
Widow: Mrs. Maggie H. Roberts
Five sons: Cleon of Mebane, William of Durham, Preston and Reid of 
Hillsborough, T. Frank Roberts of Hillsborough
Three daughters: Mrs. Lizzie Tilley of Hillsborough, Mrs. Mabel Dye of 
Marshville and Mrs. Beatrice Hasley of Raleigh
Two brothers: Charles and Clyde Roberts of Hillsborough
19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren
Funeral held Sunday at New Sharon Methodist Church by Rev. Carlos Gardner, 
with burial in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers: Grandsons
