The News, Hillsboro, NC, April 15, 1948
William Bryant Strayhorn, 86, died at home, Route 1, Efland on March 24 after 
a two year illness.
Son of George and Sally Strayhorn.
Funeral services and interment conducted March 26, 1948 at Mt. Zion Christian 
Church.
Survivors:
Wife: Mrs. Cora Forrest Strayhorn
Four Daughters: Mrs. T. B Dixon of Graham; Mrs. Sam McPherson of Mebane; Mrs. 
Claude Oakley of Burlington; Miss Elizabeth Strayhorn of the home
Three Sons: J. T. Strayhorn of Valdosta, Ga.; George Strayhorn of Mebane; Hugh 
Strayhorn of the home
16 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild
Pallbearers were grandsons:
William, Theodore, Edward and Howard Dixon; Bill and Bob McPherson
