The News of Orange County, October 26, 1967
Joseph Martin Tilley of Eno Township, died Tuesday morning at Hillcrest 
Nursing Home. He was 91.
Funeral held Wednesday at Mount Herman Baptist Church by Rev. Robert M. 
Winecoff, with burial in the church cemetery.
Born, reared and educated in Orange County.
He was a member of Mount Herman Baptist Church for many years and had engaged 
in farming all his life.
He married Minnie Sarah Couch. She died many years ago.
Survivors include -
Two daughters: Mrs. Pauline King and Mrs. Mary Jackson of Durham
One son: James Richard Tilley of the home
Four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren
