The News of Orange County, January 11, 1973
Clyde Clifton Whicker of Durham, died January 5 at Duke Medical Center.
His health had been declining for several years.
He was 51.
Native of Forsythe County.
Most of his life he lived in Durham.
Retired employee of American Tobacco Company.
Member of Durham Memorial Baptist Church.
Funeral conducted January 7 by Rev. Gerald Goodwin and Rev. Vernone McDaniel 
at Durham Memorial Baptist Church.
Burial in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
Survivors:
Widow: Mrs. Katherine Rogers Whicker
Two daughters: Mrs. Nancy Whicker Collingwood of Gastonia and Mrs. Charlotte 
Kay Whicker Jenkins of Durham
Two brothers: Clifton Bart Whicker and James Clyde Whicker, both of Durham
Two sisters: Mrs. Pauline Southerland of Durham and Mrs. Margaret Matthias of 
Philadelphia
Three brothers: Hugh Whicker of St. Louis, Mo; Charles Whicker of Doyletown, 
Pa. and William F. Whicker of Hillsborough
Five grandchildren
