Williams of Durham, died May 24 at Hillcrest Convalescent Home. He was 85. Born in Orange County to Alex G. Williams and Sarah Bishop Williams. Moved to Durham in 1940 and entered into carpentry. Worked for: W.H. and T.H. Lawrence Co - 25 years as carpenter foreman C.H. Shipp Construction Co - 15 years, retiring in 1954 Member of Duke Memorial Methodist Church for many years Former member of the Pastor's Aide Sunday School Class Survivors include - Widow: the former Myrtle Bailey Two sons: J. Lamar Williams and Lawrence F. Williams of Durham Two daughters: Mrs. Lee Silverbach of Winter Park, Fla and Elise Williams of Cary Two sisters: Mrs. C.G. Harrell and Annie Williams of Durham One brother: C.A. Williams of Hillsborough 6 grandchildren Funeral held Friday at Howerton-Bryan Funeral Chapel with burial in Maplewood Cemetery.
