McEachern, a medical student, and Miss Leta Pickard, who eloped from here yesterday, have probably gone to Florence, SC, to be married. The couple drove from here to Durham and took the train there. Miss Pickard is only 16 years old. She was a student at the Canada High school here. Her father is Mr. W.W. Pickard, proprietor of the University Inn. Mr. McEachern, who is known to the students to be the subriquet of "Bean Kit," would have completed his course in medicine in a few months. He is from Wilmington. The elopement was a great surprise to their friends.
