First my will is, that all my just debts [be] punctually paid I give and bequeath to my Niece Betsy Oldham, my negro girl, Carmelia, to her, her heirs and assigns for ever I give and bequeath to my Niece Mary Ann Braches my negro girl Malissa, to her, her heirs and assigns for ever. All the residue and remainder of my Estate both real & personal, I leave to be sold, and the proceeds thereof to be equally divided betwixt my Brothers Ezekiel Brewer, my Brother Thomas Brewer, and my Sister Rebekah Hop= -son, to be theirs, their heirs and assigns for ever. It is my particular wish and desire, that my Negroes when sold, should have the privilege of Choosing their Masters. Lastly I constitute and appoint my friend Thomas Snipes of Chatham County, Executor of this my last Will and Festament. In Witness whereof I do hereunto set my hand and seal, this twenty fifth day of September 1827 - - Sign'd seald and publis[h]ed her in presence of Elizabeth (X) Brewer (seal) mark W.S. Snipes and George W.
