In the name of God Amen, February 18th 1764
I William Brown in the Province of North Carolina
in the County of Orange & Parish of Saint Mathew
being very sick & Weak in Body but of Perfect mind &
Memory, thanks be given unto God for the same & ~ ~
Calling to Memory the Mortallity of my Body & knowing
that it is appointed for all men once to dye I do make
and Ordain, this my last [Will] & Testament that is to say
Principally & first of all I give & Recommend my soul
into the hands of God that give it & for my Body I
Recommend it to the Earth, to be Buried in a Christian
like & Decent manner at the Discretion of my Executors
nothing Doubting but at the General Resurrection I
shall receive the same again by the might power of
God and as touching such worldly Estate wherewith
it hath pleased God to bless me in this life. I give Devise
& Dispose of the same in manner & form following that
is to say then first of all my Just Debts to be paid by
my Executors & I constitute make & Ordain Jannell Alleson
& Robert Boyd to be my only & sole Executors of this
my last will & testament & I do hereby Utterly Disalow
Revoke & Disanul all every other Testament Wills
& Legacies, Bequests & Executors by my in any ways before
this time named & Written & Bequested Ratifying & Confirm
=ing this & no other to be my last will & Testament in the
first place I give & Bequeath to Margaret Ray one good
Milch Cow & to William Brown McClintoch Eight
Pounds to buy him a Mair & the Remainder of my Estate
to be Equally Divided between Jannell & Davis Alsones
Childreen[sic] in Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand
& Seal the Day & Year above Written

& held for he County of Orange at the Court house in
Chilsburg, on the Second Tuesday in May in the Year
of our Lord One thousand seven hundred & Sixty four
Present, his Majesties Justices the Execution of the
Within will was Duly proved by the Oath of George
Johnson & ordered to be recorded
