All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Ben Franklin ben.franklin.ffru@gmail.com May 2024 Source: Loose Will, NC Archives CR 073.801, Will Book Volume G, pages 241-242 Written: April 1, 1860 Recorded: Aug 1860 Testator: Rosana Castleberry I Rosana Castleberry of the County of Orange and State of North Carolina, being of Sound mind, but considering the uncertainty of earthly existence, do make and declare this my last Will and Testament, in manner and form following, that is to say: Item That my Executor (to wit) Ruffin Castleberry Shall provide for my body a decent burial and pay all funeral expenses together with my Just debts howsoever & to whomsoever owing, out of the money that may first come into his hands as a part or parcel of my estate Item I give & bequeath to my daughter Martha Barbee wife of John Barbee the sum of One dollar to be paid to her by my aforesaid Executor Item I give and bequeath to my son Ruffin Castleberry one Curtain bedstid one bed two sheets and one bedquilt Item it is my wish & my will that the balance of my property of every description be sold by my aforesaid Executor at public sale and that the proceeds arising from said Sale be divided Equally among all my Children (Martha Barbee excepted) who is named above and that the portion that my Children who are dead would be entitled to were they now living shall be given [page 2] to their lawful heirs (viz) divided equally among them. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 1st day of April AD 1860 Witness A. B.
