it remembered that I Samuel Chambers of Orange County in the State of North Carolina being weak of body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make this my last will and Testament: and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this Life I give demise and dispose of the same in ["manner" x-out] the following manner and form (vis) First it is my will that my funeral Expenses and all my Just Depts[sic] be first ["paid" ink blot] paid Item I give and bequeath to my Son James Chambers one Dollar he having received his Shear heretofore Item I give and bequeath to my Son Samuel Chambers one hundred acres of land I purchased of John Railey and thirty pounds ["lawful" x-out] lawful money ["and the young dolly Colt three years" x-out] old[sic] Item I give and bequeath to my son William Chambers the Remainder of the plantation I now live on with giving his Mother the third part of what he Reases[raises?] or the third part of the plantation which Ever She pleases or[?] what part she pleases and the young dolly Colt three years old Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter Mary Chambers a bay Mare and Colt which she cleams and kase of drawers a walnut table two feather beds and furniture with the bedsteads six chairs two cows a little Spinning wheel the loom tackling and her saddle her pewter and tea ware which she purchesed herself and twenty pounds lawful money Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Amy Lindley ten pounds Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Railey ten pounds lawful mon[e]y Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter Hannah Lindley ten pounds lawful money turn over [page 2] Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Grace Lindley ten pounds lawful money Item I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Sarah Chambers all the remainder part of my estate after my Just Depts[sic] are paid It is my will that so much of my Estate be sold as will pay my Just Depts[sic] that is not mentioned in the will I do constitute make and ordain my Beloved wife Sarah Chambers and Owen Lindley Sole Executors[sic] and Executrix of this my Last will and Testament and I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and Every other former testaments Wills Legacies bequeaths and Executors By me in any wise before named willed and Bequeathed ratifying and Confirming this and no other to be my last will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this ninth day of the fifth month in the claims & case of Drawers a Walnut Table two feather beds & furniture with the Bed Steads six chairs two Cows a little Spin[n]ing wheel the loom Tackling and her Saddle her pewter & tea ware which she purchased herself & twenty pounds lawful money [the following passage is found in the loose will, but not in the will book] Item I give & bequeath to my Daughter Amy Lindley ten pounds [end of missing
