Testator: Elizabeth Clinton

In the name of God Amen I Elizabeth Clinton of the
County of Orange and State of North Carolina being of Sound
and perfect mind and memory (blessed be God) do this 29th
twenty ninth day of December in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight Hundred and forty two make this my last
will and testament, in manner following, that is to say, First
I will and bequeath unto Jesse Clinton my beloved son my
negro woman Daphney, one Cow and Calf and all my House
hold furniture excep[t] one feather bead, which I will and
bequeath unto Milly Watson's daughter Elizabeth Ann Watson
I will and bequeath unto Milly Anderson one dollar in money
I will and bequeath unto Susan Clark one dollar in money
I will and bequeath unto John Clinton one dollar in money
I will and bequeath unto Samuel Clinton one dollar in money
I will and bequeath unto Mary Dollar one dollar in money
And I hereby make and ordain my beloved son Jesse Clinton
executor of this my last will and testament In witness where
of I the said Elizabeth Clinto[n] have to this my last will
and testament set my hand and seal, the day and year
above written.

The Execution of the foregoing last Will & Testament of
Elizabeth Clinton Decd. was duly proved in open Court by
the Oath of James Stag one of the subscribing witnesses
thereto & orgered[sic] to be recorded At the same time Jesse
Clinton the Executor therein name appeared in open
Court & qualified Accordingly
