All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Ben Franklin ben.franklin.ffru@gmail.com May 2024 Source: Will Book Volume D, pages 326-327 Written: December 31, 1811 Recorded: Feb 1812 Testator: James Crawford [Will Book Volume D, page 326] State of North Carolina Orange County In the name of God Amen I James Crawford being weak in Body but of disposing mind and memory and cal[l]ing to mind the mortality of my Soul do make or= -dain and constitute this my last Will and Testament First I give my soul to God that gave it and it to be buried in a Christian like manner - Item I give and bequeath to my loving wife Margaret the Mare and young Colt, and five head of Sheep and two head of Cows and my wife to get her maintenance of the Land her life time also I give my wife one wal -nut chest, and one walnut Table, one big wheel, one little wheel, also all the chairs, and all the geese -- My Son William is to have two crops of what Land he clears and fences the land at my wifes Deathe is to be sold, and the money equally divided among the children, my wife to have her Bed and furni -ture and the girls that is at home one Bed and fur -niture a piece and one Cow apiece -- Item I give & bequeath to my Daughter Hannah one Cow, the sixty Dollar Note is to be laid out in building a waggon for to be divided among my sons -- Item I give and bequeath to my Son Samuel one pine chest. The balance of my property after what is disposed first to be sold and my debts paid and the balance if any to be divided amongst my Children - I do hereby const[it]ute and appoint my son John Crawford and James Morrow Executors to this my last Will and Testament IN WITNESS whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 31st day of December 1811 Witness present } Thos Whitted } James Crawford (seal) Jno.
