Calling unto Minde the Mortality of my Body and Knowing that it is appointed for All Men once to Die, do Make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament; that is to say principally and First of all, I Give and Recommend my Soul Into the hand of Almighty God that Gave it, and my Body [I] Recommend To the earth; To be buried in a Decent Christian burial: at the Discretion of my Executors; Whom I have Constituted and Appointed: John Steel & John Thompson Miller of the State and County afore Said: Nothing Doubting but at the General Resurrection I Shall Receive the same again, By the Mighty power of God: and as touching ~ Such Worldly estate Where With it hath pleased God to Bless me With in this life, I Give Demise and Dispose of the Same in the following Manner and Form ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ 1st Item: I Give and bequeath unto my beloved Wife Margery Debley her bed & furniture ~ ~ ~ 2ly And also I allow all my Moveable property to be Sold and the Money Collected and put to the use of Redeeming my Bonds that lies against Me for the plantation Whereon I now live ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ 3ly It is my Will that My Wife and Children live together and be Raised and Maintained Upon the Land as long as She: My Widow Remains in that State; and When the Boys Arrives[sic] at the age of fourteen Years they are to be Bound to such trades as they themselves shall choose, at the Discretion of My Executors Until They Come to the Years of twenty [one]; that is to Say: if My Widow alters her life by Marriage Otherwise They are to live together; And as the Boys Arrives to the Age of twenty one Years. the land is to be laid off and Divided unto them According to Quantity and Q[u]allity at the Discretion of my Executors; Bruce CC Additional Comments: Will Book Volume B, pages 126-128 Recorded Feb 1791 Estate Papers comprise 25 pages and are found in a folder labeled "Deblin, Jacob (1806)". Testator's widow married James Carregan. In a petition for allotment of dower, Margery says she has five minor children: "Mary about ten years of age, Jacob about seven, James near 5, John near 4, Fanny not quite two." Jacob Deblin died 23 May 1790. Mary 8, Jacob 4, James 3, John 2, Fanny a month or two old when testator died.
