I David Hall of the County of Orange and State of North Carolina being very sick weak of body, but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be given unto God, calling unto mind the mortality of my body, and knowing that it is appoint- ed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament, that is to say Principally and first of all. I give and recommend my soul unto God, that gave it, and my body I recommend to the earth, to be buried in a decent Christian like manner, nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God. And as touching such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased Almighty God to bless me with in this life, I give, demise, and dispose of the same, in the following manner, that is to say. --- First. I give and bequeath to Elizabeth my dearly beloved Wife all and singular my lands, messuages, and tenements by her truly to be possessed, and enjoyed during her natural life or Widow-hood, and at her death or marriage. I bequeath the said lands and tenements to my well beloved son, Hardy Almond. --- Item. I give and bequeath to my beloved Son Thomas five Shillings. --- Item. I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter Delila five Shillings - - - Item. I give and bequeath to my beloved daughters, Sally, Rebecca, Betsey, and Elsey. all and singular my personal estate, to be equaly divided between thim -- except one Womans Saddle which I have already given to my daughter Sally. and one Sorel Mare which I bequeath to my dearly beloved wife Elizabeth --- and I do hereby utterly, dis -allow, revoke, and disannul, all and every other former testaments, wills, legacies, ["bequeath" x-out] bequests, and executors by me, in any wise before, named, willed and bequeathed [page 2] ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament.
