Testator: Jacob Johnston

    In the name of God, Amen, I Jacob Johnson[sic]
of the County of Orange and State of North Carolina
being of sound and disposing mind and memory
do make this my last Will and testament in man-
-ner and form following that is to say.

    Imprimis
            I give devise and bequeath to my
wife Avey Johnson; the tract of land on which I now
live which I purchased from Clement Hassey[Massey] con-
-taining one hundred acres, to her, her Heirs and
assigns for ever I also give to my said wife all
my household and kitchen furniture, my stock of Hogs
horses and cattle and in short all my personal Estate
of which I shall die possessed

            I nominate and appoint my said
wife Avey Johnson Executrix of this my last will and
testament sealed with my seal and dated this 20th day
of June in the year of our Lord 1822

In the Name of God Amen, I Jacob Johnston of the County of Ora-
=nge and State of North Carolina being of sound & disposing mind and
memory do make this my last Will & testament in manner and
form following, that is to say, Imprimis I give divise and
bequeath to my wife Avery Johnston, the tract of land on which
I now live which I purchased from Clemment Hassey[Massey] contain-

The Execution of the foregoing last Will & testament of Jacob John
ston was duly proved in open Court by the oaths of Sanders Riley
& Austin Wesson two subscribing Witnesses thereto & ordered to be
Recorded ~~ At the same time Avery Johnston the Executrix named
in the Will qualified accordingly

Clearly "Johnson" in the will, "Johnston" on the outside of the will and in the will book copy.

Will has wife's name as "Avey" Will Book has "Avery".

No estate papers found under either Johnson or Johnston.
