In The name of God Amen

I John King of the County of Orange & State of
North Carolina Being in perfect Health
Praised be God } Do Make this my last
Will & Testament as Follows Imprimis I
Give [my] Oldest Son Thomas King one dallar[sic] I Likewise
give to son Edward King one dollar I Likewise give
to my son Armour King one Dollar I Likewise
give to my Son William King one Dollar I
Give to my Son John King the Rest and
Residue of my goods and Chattels and personal
Estate after payment of Debts legacies and
Funeral expenses and unto my Son John King
whom I make sole Executor of this my last
will and Testament I give demise and bequeath
to him and his heirs all and Every my Messuages
Lands and tenements and hereditiments[sic] whatever
in Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal

                                  Orange County May Term 1797
               The Execution of the foregoing Last Will & Testament of
John King deceased was duly proved in Open Court by the Oath of D.
Bradford a subscribing witness thereto and Ordered to be Recorded ~~ at the
same time John King Executor therein named qualified accordingly

The "rest & residue" of the estate was willed to John King.  The will book copy leaves off the name of the legatee

No estate papers found.  This is expected as the executor inherited the estate, so would not need to report what he did with it to the county.  The main legatee, John King, may be the same person who died intestate, father of Lavinia.  See Estate Papers for John King (1801)
