And I do hereby request that Thomas Webb of Hillsborough may be appointed his administrator. Witness my hand and seal this 5th Oct 1874. Witness J.W. Norwood Mary Jane Kirkland (seal) William S. Kirkland and Elizabeth Kirkland, Isabella Kirkland, Margaret Long wife of Thomas Long all of Orange County are the only surviving next of kin of John Kirkland deceased being his brother and sisters. He had three other brothers Samuel who died in Orange County leaving children, Joseph who died before said John in the western country without even having been married, Johnston, who died in Arkansas leaving children, tho nothing known of them And William Kirkland states that it is the wish of the next of kin here that Thomas Webb shall act as administrator of John Kirkland deceased.
