All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Ben Franklin ben.franklin.ffru@gmail.com May 2024 Source: Loose Will, NC Archives CR 073.801, Will Book Volume D, pages 392-393 Written: July 19, 1809 Recorded: Nov 1813 Testator: John Linch In the name of God Amen this Nineteenth day of July in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight hundred and nine ---- I John Linch of Orange County & State of North Carolina being very weak of Body but of perfect and sound memory thanks be given unto Almighty God for the same and knowing that it is appointed for all men Once to die I do hereby constitute Ratefie and confirm this my last Will & Testament ~~~ That is to say) I first of all Recommend my soul and Body Into the hand of Almighty God who first gave them to be Buried in a Christian like manner at the Discretion of my Executors hopeing at the General Resurrection of the Dead to receive the full forgiveness of all my sins Through Jesus Christ our lord ~~~~ And I do hereby give and Dispose of my property as followeth after my decease I desire my two sons Jackson Linch & Cleaton Linch to have my plantation with all the land I possess I desire also that my two Daughters Rachel Linch & Gillie Linch should have their homes unmolested as long as they continue Single on the said premises ~~ I also give unto my Son Jackson Linch a Good feather Bed & furniture also one Gray Mair I also give unto my Son Darling Linches heirs Two Dollars ~~ I also give unto my son John Linch Two Dollars I also give unto my Daughter Sarah Jinkens Two Dollars I also give unto my Daughter Frances Lewis Two Dollars I also give unto my Daughter Olive Horner Two Dollars I desire that all my Just debts should be paid and after the Legetees[sic] have got their Legacys for all the rest such as a Good Horse with my stock of Cattle & hogs with all and Singular my household property with my crop of corn and Wheat with all my working tools plows & hoes & axes [page 2] To be Equelly Devided Between Jackson Linch and Rachel Linch and Gillee Linch ~~~~ I do appoint James Latta and my son Jackson Linch as my Executors of this my last Will & Testament Revoking and Disannuling all other and former Wills & Testaments by me made ~~~~ As Witness I have hereunto sett my hand and affixed my seal the day & year first above written ~~~ Signed Sealed and Delivered in the presence of John Linch Senr (Seal) Henry Bunch Jurat her Rachel (X) Linch mark Jackson Lynch Senr[?] qualifd her Gillee (+) Linch Jurat mark [Will Book Volume D, page 392] In the name of God Amen this Nineteenth day of July one thousand eight hundred and nine ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ I John Linch of Orange County & State of North Carolina being very weak of body; but of perfect & Sound memory thanks be given unto Almighty God for the same and knowing that it is appointed for all Men once to die.
