In the Name of God Amen The 24th day of Decem-
ber in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and
ninety four I Jeremiah McCracken of the State of
North Carolina and County of Orange being Very Sick and
weak in Body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be
given unto God therefore Cal[l]ing to mind the mortality of my body
and knowing that it is appoint for all men once to die do make
and ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to Say prin
cipally and first of all I give and Recommend my Soul into
the hands of God that gave, and for my body I recommend it
to the earth to be buried in a Christian like and decent manner
at the discretion of my Executor nothing doubting but at the gener
-ral resurrection I Shall receive the same again by the migh
ty power of God, and as Touching Such Worldly Estate
when with it hath pleased God, to bless me in this life I give
devise & dispose of the Same in the following manner & form

Imprimis it is my Will and I do order So that in the first
place all my Just debts and funeral Charges be paid and
Satisfied --- Item I give and bequeath unto Sarah my
dearly beloved Wife the one third of this Land and the dwelling
house Wherein she live during her life and her Bed and bed
furniture one mare Cal[l]ed Bane and two Cows which she
please & thre[e] Sheep and one third of all Swine & all
the flower [flour] that is in the house and all the Corn & all the

oats and one third of all the ready money that is now upon
hand and one third of all the bounds notes and book Debts ---
I Constitute and ordain Sary McCraken and my Brother John
McCrakin my Executors and Item I give and bequeath unto
my brother two thirds of all the land money and stick ---
the day and year above written this being my last Will and
Testament whereunto I have Set my hand and seal In the
presence of us

The Execution of the foregoing Last Will and Testament of Jeremiah
McCrackin dec'd. was duly proved in open Court by the oath of
James Clendenin Subscribing witness thereto and ordered to be
Recorded -- At the Same time John McCrackin one of the Execu
tor therein named qualified accordingly
