In the name of God Amen ~~ I Thomas McCracken
of the County of Orange and State of North Carolina
being of Sound and perfect mind and memory ~~~
Do this the Twenty eight[h] day of May in the Year of Our
Lord One thousand eight Hundred and thirty eight (1838)
Make and publish this my last Will and Testament
in Manner following ~~~~

That is to Say I Give unto my Wife Susan McCracken
all my ["worldly" x-out] my[sic] property of every kind - after
paying all my Just debts, and paying One
Hundred dollars to my Nephew Thomas McCracken
(Son of my brother John McCrackin) ---

And I her[e]by make and appoint Thomas P. Paul
Executor to this my last Will and Testament  And
set my hand & seal the above day and year above[sic]

The Execution of the last Will & Testament of
Thomas McCrackin[sic] was duly proved by the
oath of Samuel N. Tate the subscribing witness
thereto & Ordered to be Recorded

    In the name of God Amen I Thomas McCracken of
the County of Orange and State of North Carolina being of sound
and perfect mind and memory Do this the twenty eight[h] day of
May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
thirty eight eight[sic] (1838) make and publish this my last Will
and Testament in man[n]er following: That is to say I give
unto my wife Susan McCracken all my property of every kind
after paying all my just Debts and paying One hundred dollars
to my Nephew Thomas McCracken Son [of] my brother John McCrac=
=kin: ~~ And I hereby make & appoint Thomas P.
Paul Executor to this my last Will and Testament. And

Estate Papers comprise 36 pages and are found in a folder labeled "McCracken, Thomas (1845)".  Includes allotment of dower.  Testator died "in June or July 1845".  No family history found.
